Welcome to the first edition of our monthly Q&A series, where I sit down with a cup of tea and answer some of your most frequently asked questions about Circlarity, sustainable celebrations, and life behind the scenes.
Iām Claire, founder of Circlarity Events Co., and I am the heart, soul, and hands-on creator behind the scenes. Each month, Iāll share honest insights and a behind-the-scenes look at how we create joyful, low-impact celebrations.
1. How do you come up with your party package theme ideas?
It's a great question; honestly, itās one of my favourite parts of the creative process! Each theme is inspired by a mix of imagination, childhood nostalgia, and what I see kids really light up over. Sometimes itās sparked by something my daughter Izabella says, a book we read, or even a colour palette that feels fun and adventurous. I also love creating collections that encourage storytelling and nature play, like our Enchanted Woods or Wild Expedition sets. The goal is always to balance magic and meaning.
2. What is your process for ensuring the packs are sustainable?
Sustainability isnāt a checkbox at Circlarity; itās at the core of every decision we make. Each pack element is carefully chosen to reduce waste and maximise reuse. We use plant-based compostable tableware, avoid single-use plastics, and design with longevity in mind. I also work closely with local suppliers when possible and keep packaging minimal and recyclable. Itās all about creating joyful, low-impact celebrations that tread lightly on the planet.
3. How come your packages are so affordable?
I get asked this a lot! The short answer is: I want eco-conscious celebrations to be accessible. Iāve intentionally kept pricing reasonable so that more families can enjoy meaningful, low-waste moments without the premium price tag. By handling everything in-house, using clever upcycled styling tricks, and focusing on what really matters, I can keep the cost down while still delivering a high-quality, beautiful experience. It's part of my bigger mission: making sustainability something you can actually say yes to.
4. How do you juggle managing Circlarity while studying a double degree and being a solo parent?
With love, lists, and a whole lot of late nights! I wonāt sugar-coat it, itās a juggle. However, Circlarity is something I deeply believe in, and my studies in design and sustainability fuel my work. My daughter inspires me daily, and I want her to see that you can build something meaningful from the ground up. Some weeks are messy, but I prioritise progress over perfection. And Iāve learned to embrace the chaos with a smile (and maybe a strong coffee).
5. If you could change anything about the event industry, what would it be?
Iād love to see the industry move away from fast, flashy, and wasteful celebrations toward slower, more intentional celebrations that honour people and the planet. Thereās still a huge reliance on cheap, disposable dĆ©cor that looks good for a few hours and ends up in landfill. I believe we can do better. Thatās why Iām so passionate about showing whatās possible with reuse, storytelling, and thoughtful design. The more we normalise sustainable events, the more the industry will shift.
